We strive to do all work quickly and skillfully. If we are not skilled in a particular area, we will either refer the matter to a lawyer who is, or join counsel. In any case, the goal is to see that clients receive the highest quality legal services.
Clients are kept informed at all times by copies of the correspondence, documents, and pleadings that we produce, send, or receive on their behalf.
When David is in conference with clients, he does not accept telephone calls, except for emergencies, because the client in the office deserves undivided attention, and we do not want to discuss one client’s legal matters in the presence of other clients. Telephone calls are answered as promptly as possible. If a client’s questions do not involve legal advice, the secretaries can often answer them more quickly than the lawyer.
Information given by clients is held in strict confidence, subject to the requirements of law, court order, and our ethical duty to report to the court any perjury or fraud perpetrated during the course of our representation of a client. We are ethically permitted to reveal a client’s intention to commit a crime and the information necessary to prevent the crime, and confidences or secrets necessary to establish or collect fees or defend ourselves and our staff against accusations of wrongful conduct; we would endeavor to decide such matters according to what we believe would be the most morally and ethically desirable outcome.
